Bio

Tosin Gbadegesin is an Economist (Ph.D., Howard University) with nearly a decade of experience applying data-driven methods to policy, business, and development challenges. His work combines causal inference, machine learning, and applied econometrics to generate actionable insights for decision-making in energy, climate, and urban systems.

At the World Bank Group, he leads the design, strategy, and implementation of the IFC’s Private Sector Gender and Economic Inclusion Data Hub. In this role, he oversees technical architecture, data integration across multiple global sources, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver scalable analytics platforms that inform investment and policy decisions.

Tosin has contributed to projects across multiple World Bank Group units, applying quasi-experimental methods and predictive analytics to evaluate policy impacts, assess investment effectiveness, and support evidence-based strategy.

He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Howard University and an M.Sc. in Economic Development from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His training is grounded in microeconomic theory, causal inference, and empirical policy evaluation. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to flagship policy reports.
