Bio

Tosin Gbadegesin is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at Howard University with almost a decade of experience applying data-driven solutions to complex policy and business problems. At the World Bank Group, he leads the design, strategy, and implementation of the IFC’s Private Sector Gender and Economic Inclusion Data Hub—overseeing technical development, integrating diverse data sources, and managing cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact analytics.

Tosin has contributed to projects across multiple World Bank Group departments, applying econometric modeling, machine learning, and causal inference to inform strategic decision-making and investment evaluation. His work bridges the intersection of applied microeconomics, causal ML, energy, environmental, and urban economics, producing actionable insights for policy and private sector development.

He holds an M.A. in Economics from Howard University and an M.Sc. in Economic Development from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His academic and professional works are grounded in causal inference, empirical policy evaluation, and microeconomic theory.
